Nice Hotel, upgraded our room as well, so decent sized, no real problem just a few niggles, like could have upgraded little touches like light switches etc. when they did the re-furb. Breakfast a bit over priced as well, for what it was.

The hotel is situated very close to the Tenderloin district and can have a high level of homeless people around.

Excellent location right at the heart of theatre district. Union Square. The room was huge! The staff were great allowing us to check in early when we arrived ahead of schedule. We didn’t have breakfast included in this price but the hotel was $14 for a buffet breakfast - we thought this was expensive so explored and you were spoiled for choice on cafe's, diners and restaurants offering great breakfasts at low prices. A lovely city centre hotel.

A smaller hotel in an excellent location. Very comfortable beds! Lovely bar and very friendly helpful staff. Good diners nearby for breakfast and lively area for evenings, lots of locals as well as tourists. Union Square shopping close by. Preferred staying here than Fisherman’s Wharf where we stayed on our last visit. Everyone happy with hotel and location; we were a mature couple travelling with son and partner (30s).

A smaller hotel with small bar and lounge/dining area. Located close to the center of town and the main tram car route, this is a plus, although it is about 3 miles away from the Fishermans Wharf area, a must visit to view the Golden gate bridge and Alcatraz. Make use of the tram if visiting this area. Do not expect views from the hotel as adjacent buildings are fairly run down.

Very friendly staff - our room was upgraded to a junior suite (without our asking) which was very comfortable. Hotel no longer has a fully-fledged restaurant (although they do bar-type meals); breakfast not as wonderful as The Drake, though adequate.

We liked this hotel. Just off the centre of the city - walking distance. Staff very helpful and accommodating - best of any of the hotels we visited. Concierge helped a lot with airport transfer and a few local tips. Didn’t quite feel like a family hotel so dropped a mark or two there. Gym facilities were good and allowed children in. For a city centre hotel - there was some noise from outside at night - but we were only on the second floor.

Driving and parking in San Francisco a bit of a nightmare but we got used to it. Reception were good about valet parking - made it clear how much it would cost. Lots of warnings in hotel about stating on your guard - they have obviously had problems. Room on the 6th floor was fine. Noisy outside - lots of sirens etc. Good lounge and fair-priced meals. A convenient walk to city centre and coast.

A very good hotel but at the edge of the Union Square tourist area, gets seedier further out. Within walking distance of all the top shops and easy public transport to attractions. Be aware $49 + tax per night to park a large car - we dropped off car as soon as we reached SF and used the good public transport system. WIFI included in room cost.

What the hotel lacked in terms of style and luxury's (at least in comparison to the Bellagio) it more than made up for in the service. The team were friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The location was excellent and great for getting about San Francisco.
