Free shuttle to the Universal Studios. Was quite hard to find other sights and places though, had to rely more on our own guide books whereas the rest of the hotels offered a lot of info on surrounding sights (via staff and leaflets).

Overall a nice hotel except during our stay the restaurant and Bar was undergoing refurbishment and not in use, so everything was done in the Ball Room, thus very busy only buffet offered and bad customer service and expensive. When we arrived they had no knowledge of our booking, but after 10min wait and some phone calls by reception they booked us in. Location was very good and we ate at City Walk most nights.

Overall the standard of the hotel was excellent, i just felt being a sole traveller it was a little too far out of Los Angeles. I also felt the $14 car park charge was a bit of a rip off.

the only thing wrong with this hotel was location. I would like to have seen the final hotel on route 66 closer to Santa Monica pier, where the route ends... even if it was to cost more.

Right by the freeway, so quite noisy; no restaurants within walking distance (though this is probably true of most of LA!); staff failed to put personal calls through or pass on messages on 2 occasions - the least good of our hotels. Good restaurant on site, though, and of course very handy for Universal Studios (with own shuttle bus).

Room was great and clean. Facilities were good but having to pay for the parking let the score down. Location was dreadful due to being very very close to the freeway that was non stop and loud all day and night. Staff were polite and efficient.

Good hotel. Facilities clean and tidy. Location felt a bit out of it hence lower score - but concede only a stones throw from Universal - which we didn't want to visit. The charge of $14 per night parking was not known about. A lot of traffic in LA and location just off main highway meant we got stuck in traffic queues on a couple of occasions - but that's a fact for any main city.

The hotel was miles from anything; except Universal studios. The hotel was lovely but advice should have been forwarded suggesting that a hire car be budgeted for the full 4 days.

Rather hideous concrete walling everywhere in the accommodation blocks and tired bathrooms, but the communal areas were nice, the location was good for Universal and the rooms were clean. The rooms were big enough to take a child's rollaway bed which turned out to be quite unusual for this class of hotel.

Parking fee of $7 dollars a night. Fridge and safe facilities cost extra as they are not complementary to the rooms. Beautiful restaurant on site called Tula's California Café on site. Free shuttle service to and from Universal Studios. Lovely surroundings.

Clean and good sized room. Hotel good area and a bus ride away from Universal Studios, Warner Bros Studios. However we did not know that we had to pay for parking which was an extra 14 dollars per night. Bar and restaurant were good and a good deal for a buffet breakfast. Drinks were quite expensive.

The standard of the room in this hotel was average, neither of us had particularly good nights sleep the bed was not very comfortable. It did not exceed our expectations, we had a fairly good view of the pool and courtyard area but you can hear Highway 101 from the room it's location to the highway was good for us for convenience of travelling but very noisy. The staff were generally helpful and informative; they can arrange pretty much anything for you. It is within five minutes of Universal Studios and City Walk which is great for food and entertainment. We also used the Metro to go and watch a Dodger's baseball game, which is highly recommended. The hotel pool was nice and the gym was good. It was sufficient for what was required, not sure on the rating of this hotel but I would say roughly 3*.

Location ok if all you want to do is universal studios, however for anywhere else in LA you definitely require a car. We didn't feel safe on the metro as it is not policed. Next to a busy freeway which was very noisy, you will need earplugs! Overall a nice hotel with friendly staff, just poor location.

Very helpful staff, especially Loretta in the hotel shop. Good size room, well kept grounds, a bit too cold for us to enjoy the pool but the facilities were very good. Complimentary shuttle bus to Universal Studios very helpful, lovely drivers. Overall a good base to explore LA.

Slightly out of the way to visit some of Los Angeles tourist attractions but great if you want to include Universal Studio tours. Sadly lack of time prevented us from taking advantage of this. Free use of the internet in the reception area was much appreciated.
