Themed on a luxurious safari lodge, and overlooking a beautiful open African savannah which contains a wide variety of mammals and birds from zebra to giraffe. You can see these exotic animals through the giant picture windows in the lobby or from an elevated rock outcrop enabling you to walk out over the animals' heads too. The rooms are arranged in a semi-circular pattern around the lobby, imitating the kraal African village design. The lighting in the lobby simulates spectacular sunrises and sunsets, with the illusion of campfire and fireflies at night.

Renovation & Hotel Information
Between April 2007 - April 2009, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge villas will be under construction. These villas will be located on the current 5th & 6th floors of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. The construction will entail complete remodelling of these floors and work will involve jack hammers and other work machinery. Interior work will be restricted to Mon-Fri 9am-6pm but there will be noise. The work will not effect clients spending time by the pool. All hotel facilities remain fully open.
May 516 Pool Bar upgrading security windows and shade system Guest may hear some noise in pool area but pool will remain open during the refurbishment.
In addition to the new villas, a new housing area for the animals is being constructed in the Savannah area adjacent to the hotel. Although this is not connected to the hotel, there is a crane and some construction equipment visible from the property. Savannah View rooms will no longer be available during this time.
November 2008 - January 30th 2009: Building exterior repair and painting will be in progress and scaffolding will be in use and visible from the pool deck. work will occur daily from 9am - 6pm.
November 2008 - May 01 2009: Interior rooms and hallways will be under refurbishment. Guest may be redirected in the hallways to bypass the closed off areas.
