Beautiful hotel but smallish room in comparison to the rest. Somehow sterile and a bit impersonal after our previous hotels.

We travelled to the hotel on the BART metro system, and got rather lost on our way from the nearest station - finding it difficult to get our bearings with the way the street names were labelled at the intersections, but once we'd got our cases to the hotel we realised this was a prime spot in San Francisco. Union Square is right in the middle of the main shopping district, with the classic cable car line running right outside the door of the hotel. The concierge was very helpful, though the queue for the three concierges on duty did mean an occasional delay in getting assistance. A luggage store was available for us to leave our bags after checking out, before departing for the airport later in the day. The room itself was clean and tidy, again a large king size bed, and coffee making facilities, in room safe etc. We were on a high floor (27th) with amazing views over Union Square and San Francisco (though we were facing the wrong direction for the Golden Gate Bridge). Check-in / Checkout was fast and hassle free, and we had a comment about our Honeymoon which was a nice touch.

The Westin St. Francis fills one side of Union Square and is well located for sightseeing in San Francisco. The trams stop right outside, with Market Street and Chinatown only a few minutes’ walk. Initially we were given a fairly small double room, which was adequate. When we reported a fault in our bathroom, they moved us to a much larger room for our three night stay. The restaurants in the hotel seemed very expensive - and were constantly very busy. The hotel can be easily reached from the airport by taking the BART train.

Great hotel, right on Union Square so really handy for everything. We found Lori's Diner right up the street which was great for breakfast every day. Free Wi-Fi in the lobby area was useful.

Good hotel with excellent location in Union Square, not much given away and would have loved to go back to Hotel Monaco.

Great location and a lovely hotel. The room was small but very nice - very well-equipped although internet access was expensive, as was car parking. Good restaurants and a great bar. Perfect base for exploring the city.
